Developed as a Counter Terrorism measure, the PlateScan ALPR system work by capturing digital images of Vehicle License Plates as they pass a camera, either mobile or fixed.
The license-plates are automatically cross-checked in real time against a number of local and national databases to identify vehicles that are of interest to the police. Vehicles that match can be immediately intercepted.
PlateScan has massive potential not only to make a significant impact on vehicle crime, but also on general criminal activity and homeland security.
PlateScan is based on a proprietary neural network recognition engine.
